In Memoriam: Elnora Brock

Elnora Maxwell Brock, 80, of Freehold Township, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at home with her loving family. Born in Louisa County, VA she lived in Millstone Township before moving to Freehold Township. Elnora was employed by the Monmouth County Action Program (MCAP) as a community organizer and during her tenure with MCAP she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in sociology from Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. She then worked at Check-Mate Inc. as a regional coordinator for 29 years helping those in their time of need. Known to her friends and family as "Maxie," she enjoyed cooking and doing special things for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence in 2007 and her daughter, Diane Goodson in 1991. Surviving are her three sons, Clarence (Priscilla) of Burlington, Carl (Brenda) of Lakewood and Larry (Tracey) of New Brunswick; her three daughters, Sheila Lewis (John) of Lakewood, Robin Brock (John) of Freehold and Jessica Harris (Robert) of Philadelphia; brother, George (Mazie) Fuller of MD; sister, Anne Caine of Washington, DC; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Georgia Berry and Dorothy Bryce.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, September 7, from 9:00 a.m., until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
She will be sorely missed by her Check-Mate Family!
