Adult Shelter For the Homeless

The Monmouth County Adult Shelter for the Homeless is located at Bldg. 417 on Ft. Monmouth in Eatontown, NJ. The shelter was established through the joint cooperation of Check-Mate, The County of Monmouth and the U.S. Department of the Army at Fort Monmouth. The shelter's purpose is to provide emergency shelter and comprehensive case management services for single homeless adults in Monmouth County.

 

It is an emergency housing service designed to deliver an effective means of comprehensive services to promote economic and social self-sufficiency for homeless adults. The Monmouth County Board of Social Services and local welfare agencies are approved referral agencies for admission to the shelter outside of the Check-Mate itself. The emergency shelter program provides a year round, 24-hour program of temporary housing and social services to single adults 18 years and over. The facility has a 31-bed capacity, 21 beds are designated for males and the remaining 10 are designated for females. The maximum stay is 30 days. Shelter clients are provided with counseling, meals, clothing and transportation. Referrals are provided for medical and social services.
