Weatherization

The Weatherization Program is a nationwide program used to assist homeowners and tenants in improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Check- Mate administers this program throughout Monmouth County. This program is available to all income eligible residents of Monmouth County. State trained technicians conduct energy audits and inspections. Depending on the results of the audits and inspections repairs may include the following:

Installation of weather stripping.
Caulking around doors and windows.
Attic insulation.
Combustion Efficiency tests on heaters and hot water heaters.
Gas stoves are tested for health and safety for Carbon Monoxide.
Repair/Replacement of regular windows/external doors.
Furnace repair or replacement.
Boiler repair or replacement.
Minor repairs to improve heating efficiency.
The allowable expenditure on single family units heating systems is $2500.00.

The application for Weatherization is the same application that is used for the Home Energy Assistance Program. The required documentation is the same. Some document headings may be Weatherization specific.
